Practice Makes Perfect And Permanent

We must understand that intense and consistent exercise as well as effective training routines/programs are not used to develop short term success, but instead should deliver results indefinitely. A training program should be filled with new challenges and should push you to new goals. It should keep you excited and motivated to work out consistently.

It is also important to master exercises in order to improve and move forward. I find that the more you practice something the better you get. In my own experience, I grew as a basketball player from practicing on a daily basis. I worked on the drills and the moves that were my weaknesses and in time made those my strengths. With exercise, many of you need to understand that you cannot expect to master a certain movement/exercise on your first try. It takes practice and patience to improve and in time I guarantee you will grow as a training athlete.

In order to continue the development of an effective training system and to produce physical improvements, you must continue to move forward and present new challenges. So as you master one exercise, I feel it is necessary to introduce a more advanced movement for that specific exercise to continue a positive training response. Understand that in order to promote long term development you must continually challenge yourself with new movements and more frequent and more intense exercise.

DO NOT TAKE ANY SHORTCUTS! I live by this...think about it, the harder you work- the more you will improve overall and the more you will appreciate all that you have worked for. DO NOT FOLLOW THE CROWD! Work hard and respect the work that you are giving your body. Many people do not want to work for anything. Most people seek an easy road to the top. DO NOT DISRESPECT YOUR BODY! Exercise should be an investment to yourself. The body should be respected, maintained, and improved.

EXERCISE DOES WORK. Working out on a daily basis, watching what you eat, making sure you do your cardio may not be easy, and it may not happen overnight, but the exciting thing is that it DOES WORK. It takes time, consistency, and of course HARD WORK!

So my challenge to you is to include a regular dose of intensity in your workouts, be consistent with your training, eat right (to fuel your body), and make time for rest and recovery...BALANCE!!!!
